San Francisco, California, USA

sunny 28 °C

San Francisco, home of Twitter, origin of the UN & 13 legal 'Naked Days' a year!

Subway steam.

Beautiful sunny day. Spent most of the day using the Hop on Hop Off bus. Some drama when our first trolley bus broke down going over the Golden Gate Bridge. Found out later, the fuel tank had detached! We slowly got over the bridge, then had to be transferred to another bus.
Later stopped at Alamo Square where the Painted Ladies are. These are beautiful Victorian homes in an exclusive suburb, that have been restored and painted in various pastel colours. They were used in the opening scenes of TV series Full House.

Next stopped at Haight-Ashbury district, which is the 'hippy' district of SF. Plenty of 'flower power' decor & 'supplies'.

Then caught the bus again over to the northern side of the bridge and walked over it (45min). Very windy & cool.

Caught bus, then trolley car to Chinatown for dinner. Trolley car ride was really cool. Almost like a show ride going up & down those steep hills.
Craig risked life & limb by hanging onto the outside!
