Mainly a driving day from Whistler to Wells Gray NP, near Clearwater (5hrs on the road) up through the Rocky Mtns. Lots of contrasting scenery ranging from high mountain passes, canyons, followed fast flowing wandering rivers, rolling 'dry and barren' goldfields hills and big wide rivers through the valleys. Highlights included Lower Joffre lake ( beautiful colours, complete with high mountain and glacier in the background), Pavillion lake with freshwater coral making a spectacular colour, Spahats Falls and within Wells Gray NP, Dawson Falls (a mini Niagara) and Helmcken Falls (4th tallest in Canada). Also travelled through some ranch country and passed Lillooet ( history of gold mining). Saw a red fox crossing the road and hummingbirds at our accommodation!
My favourite! Lower Joffre Lake
